Happy 2006!
In spirit of, well, myself I have once again put off updating for quite sometime. Since all of you know me, and I hardly get any responses on my journal these days...I'm sure you guys could care less haha.
New Years has come and gone once again. This year I didn't get to spend it with a massive ammount of people, but I did have a great time. I spent it with Josh and Mark, and had a really nice time. Yes alcohol was involved because let's face it NEW YEARS, but it was fun. My brother called me about a bazillion times, which I didn't mind. The night ended with me over at Ryan's passing out because we didn't get out of there till like 2:30.
I am currently back at school, and having a good time. Rachel should be back anytime now, and Brett is having a little get together tonight. I'm excited because its been awhile since I hung out with Brett, and I'd really like to drink tonight with my friends. Have a nice drunk evening before classes start. I'm excited about classes starting because I get to see the education crew, I get to have an acting class finally, queer studies (lol), and nights with the crew. Majorily excited!
So my one goal for this year is to lose weight, and be really serious about it. I've gained a few pounds since freshman year and I really dispise it. I want to get back down to the size I was in high school. My main goal is to look pretty decent by May because Grover's Corners is at the end of that month and I really don't want to look fat on stage, let alone when we film it! So to help me I'm going to eat right, walk to class when I have it downtown, use my tapes, and I really really want to start running if I can find someone to do it with me. I've had a few offers so I really hope those pull through.
This past week I've seen about a bagillion movies. The Family Stone (VERY GOOD), King Kong (good but long), Pride and Prejudice (GOOD), Memoirs of a Geisha (BORING BORING BORING), and a crap load of rented movies. Yes, there hasn't been much to do up here. Ryan and I took a trip to Ikea that was fun. I got a lamp lol
Yesterday I went to see The Phantom of the Opera in Pittsburgh with Ryan's dad, Shelly, Ryan of course, and a few other random people. We went to dinner at some really nice resturant and Ryan's dad payed for everyone's meal....10 people at a really nice resturant YIKES!!! Then the show! I know everyone thinks I'm overcritical of shows, but I will give constructive criticism. Christine was bad. Her lower range was good, but when she got up in her higher range it was awful! My ears seriously started to bleed. Raoul was just plain boring. The Phantom was really good, but he tried to do an over the top Phantom voice that a lot of people who play that part get into. Very cartoonish, but when he dropped it and let his voice soar it was amazing! Firmin and Andre were really good. They were exactly what they needed to be. Carlotta was really good, but Piani wasn't very good. Madame Giry was just really boring. It wasn't a bad show, but it lacked the overpowering factor. The music and the vocals never just took over the audience. So basically one of the major downfalls of the show was that the sound sucked. I expect to be blown out of my seat by vocals and the orchestra, but I wasn't. The trip overall was extremely great. Lots of fun.
Well, I've basically caught you guys up with what's going on. Later!
